How to Book the Seniors Bus

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (except statutory holidays), the Seniors Bus can be booked to take you from your home to appointments and shops within the Town of Banff. Call 403-762-1251 to book a ride.

-> Come for coffee or tea from 2-4 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the d’Entremont Room to play games and engage in conversation with Banff seniors

-> Sign-up for a program at the Banff Public Library

-> Drop-in to bake cookies with Shirley in the Pioneer Room on February 6th, 13th and 27th 2:30 – 4:00 pm. Suggested donation of $3.

Feb 3rd            Caramelized Onion Meatloaf served with red wine boiled potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli and carrots

Feb 10th          Chicken Cordon Blue with maple roasted yams, roasted beets, and braised cabbage

Feb17th        Lemon Chicken served with goat cheese mashed potatoes, zucchini,  roasted red peppers, and baby bok choy

Feb 24th          Lemon Dill Salmon served with roasted baby potatoes, grilled asparagus, balsamic mushrooms, and carrots

Weekly Activities

*   For drop-in fitness programs, you require a Town of Banff Membership Card (available at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre). Plan to arrive 15 minutes early with comfortable clothes, indoor shoes, and a water bottle. Call 403-762-1235 for further information. Fitness programs start up again on Monday, January 2, so lace up those runners. In addition to the programmes designed especially for seniors, there is also drop-in skating, pickleball, shinny, badminton, soccer, Pilates, yoga, and volleyball. Mondays (except statutory holidays)

  • 9:00 am – 50+ Fitness at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre. *
  • 12:00 noon – Join us for lunch at either the Senior’s Centre ($8.00) or at a local restaurant (cost depends on what you order.) Check calendar for the week’s location. 
  • 2:00 – 4:00 pm – Join us for tea, coffee, cookies, socializing, board games, and pool at the d’Entremont Room in the Senior’s Centre. Suggested donation of $1.00.

Tuesdays

  • 9:00 am – 50+ Yoga for the Wise at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre. *
  • 12:00 noon – Dance Conditioning at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre. *
  • 3:00 pm – Tai Chi at the Senior’s Centre. *

Wednesdays

  • 12:00 noon – Pilates at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre. *
  • 12:00 noon – Community Table lunch at the Senior’s Centre. Recommended donation of $3.00.
  • 2:00 – 4:00 pm – Join us for tea, coffee, cookies, socializing, board games, and pool at the d’Entremont Room in the Senior’s Centre. Suggested donation of $1.00.

Thursdays

Do You Know?

Banff residents, aged 80 years old and over, are eligible for a free resident’s parking pass that allows you to bypass the sign-in parking system.

How to Obtain the Over 80 Pass?

Visit the Banff Town Hall at 110 Bear Street between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday (except statutory holidays.) Bring the following:

  • Your vehicle registration which MUST be in YOUR name.
  • A piece of identification to verify your age (passport, driver’s licence, etc).
  • Proof of your physical residence in Banff (utility bill, etc.)

Computer Questions

Ten students came to help us with Computer, iPad, cell phone or any technology questions last week. They will return in February. Plan to bring your questions and problems then.
