Residential School: The Freedom Trail

with Agnus Cockney, Friday, September 29, 7:00 p.m. FREE

Margaret Greenham Theatre, Banff Centre

Join Agnus Cockney, artist, athlete and Inuit residential school survivor in reflection of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Drawing on his lived experience, Angus shares a powerful testimony from his life as a residential school survivor and his own freedom trail.

Registration is nor required. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Bones of Crows

Thursday, September 28, 7:00 p.m. – 9:15 p.m., Lux Cinema FREE

Removed from their family home and forced into Canada’s residential school system, Cree musical prodigy Aline and her siblings are plunged into a struggle for survival. Bones of Crows is Aline’s journey from child to matriarch, a moving, multi-generational epic of resilience, survival and the pursuit of justice.

Gentle Reflection Walk

Saturday, September 30, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. FREE, Met at the Town Hall

Join Dani, granddaughter of a Metis residential school survivor on a gentle reflection walk to Bow Falls in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconcilition. Dani will share her journey of joining a T & R committee and will help us pay homage to those who walked these lands before us. The walk will end with light snacks and refreshments.

Harvest Festival

September 9th and 10th, 2023

The Banff Farmer’s Market presents this FREE event in Central Park from noon to 9:00 p.m. There will a market, music, food and a beer garden. Come kick off fall with family, friends and pets!

New Bus Stop on Marten Street

A new ROAM bus stop was added on Marten Street near Moose and Mount Edith House.

Users can use Bus Route 4, Cave and Basin, to access downtown. This bus stop is a trial, ending October 2nd. As a Banff resident you are eligible for a free locals’ pass. Apply on line at www.roamtransit.com or in person at the ROAM customer service desk located in the Banff Visitor Centre on Banff Avenue.
