Terry Fox Run

Sunday, September 7, 2023, Banff Recreation Grounds

The annual Terry Fox Run has become a fall tradition in Canada, with more than 650 communities, big and small, urban and rural, fundraising for cancer research in honour of Terry’s legacy. You can join as an individual, team or family and walk, run, wheel or roll the 1, 2, 5 or 10 km. route. You can donate or register for the Banff event and fundraise on line by visiting www.run.terryfox.ca.

In person registration 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.. Run/Walk starts at 10:00 a.m.

Nature Walks

COME WALK WITH US

Meet at the Seniors Centre (101 Bear St) on the third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. 

The walks last up to 2 hours. 

Everybody welcome!

Most hikes will be close to the Seniors Centre.

Tidy the Town

Help Keep Banff Clean

Come join us for a stroll and fresh air each Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 to pick up litter close to the Seniors Centre.

We have buckets and garbage pickers so you don’t have to stoop or handle garbage with your hands

This is a good opportunity to socialize and help our Town

Banff Singalong Strings

Sing or play an instrument – Everyone welcome.

Next performances: No performances scheduled at this time.

Practices: Mondays 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. likely in the d’Entremont Room but watch for updates.

Special Days and Events to Celebrate

Every Tuesday, “Tidy the Town“.  Make our Town more appealing by picking up litter close to the Seniors Centre from 1 to 3 pm each week.   

Looking for Things to Do?

-> Come for coffee or tea from 2-4 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the d’Entremont Room to play games and engage in conversation with Banff seniors. No tea on Good Friday

-> Join other Seniors to pick up litter around Town, every Tuesday, from 1 – 3, meet at the Catherine Robb Whyte Building Senior’s entrance.

-> Join the Tai Chi group, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4 in the Pioneer Room of the Catherine Robb Whyte Building

-> Join a fitness program with the Town of Banff

-> Check out the free programs at the Banff Centre

-> Sign-up for a program at the Banff Public Library

How to Book the Seniors Bus

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (except statutory holidays), the Seniors Bus can be booked to take you from your home to appointments and shops within the Town of Banff. Call 403-762-1251 to book a ride.

Help Needed for Teatime

The Seniors Society needs volunteers to help with the preparation, serving, and clean-up of coffee and tea from 2-4 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the d’Entremont Room of the Senior’s Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity to play games and engage in conversation with some of Banff’s inspiring seniors.
